Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 10 July 2025  |  Effective Date: 10 July 2025

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Ticklore website and your engagement with workshop services offered by Ticklore, 14 Lebuh Bishop, 10200 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. By submitting an enquiry or leaving a watch for service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.

1. Definitions

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or engaging workshop services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement. If you are submitting a watch on behalf of another person, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

3. Website Use

The website is provided for informational purposes and to facilitate service enquiries. You agree not to use the website to submit false information, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access areas not intended for public use. All content on the website, including text, images and design, is the property of Ticklore and may not be reproduced without written consent.

4. Service Scope and Agreement

No bench work begins without a written Scope Document that has been approved by the client. The Scope Document sets out:

If circumstances during the work require changes to the agreed scope, a revised written proposal will be issued before that additional work proceeds. You are not obligated to approve a revised scope; in that case, the watch will be returned in its current state and you will be charged only for work completed up to that point.

5. Heritage Projects — Stage Consent

For long-form heritage projects, each stage is agreed in writing before it begins. You may withdraw from the project after any completed stage and collect the watch as it stands at that point. Withdrawal after a stage has begun but before completion will be handled on a case-by-case basis; you will be charged for the portion of the stage completed.

6. Payment

All prices are quoted and invoiced in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Payment is due on collection of the watch unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash and bank transfer. Watches will not be released until full payment is received. For heritage projects, a deposit of 30% of the agreed project fee may be requested at the start of the assessment week; this is stated in the Scope Document if applicable.

7. Client Responsibilities

8. Workshop Warranty

Movement overhauls carry a 12-month workshop warranty on the bench work performed. Crystal and crown replacement carries a 3-month workmanship warranty. Heritage projects are covered as specified in the individual Scope Document. Warranties cover defects arising directly from the bench work and do not cover accidental damage, water ingress from external impact, or wear resulting from normal use after collection.

9. Disclaimers

Workshop services are provided on a best-efforts basis by qualified bench technicians. We do not make representations about the future performance or longevity of any watch beyond the scope of the work carried out. Older and vintage movements may have pre-existing conditions that become apparent only during service; these will be disclosed in a revised Scope Document before further work proceeds.

Website content is provided for general information only and does not constitute professional horological advice specific to your watch without a physical assessment.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Ticklore's liability for any claim arising from workshop services is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in dispute. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including sentimental or collectible value attributed to the watch beyond its assessed repair cost. This limitation does not affect statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 (Malaysia).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Ticklore from any claim arising from inaccurate information you provide about the watch, including prior undisclosed repairs, damage, or ownership disputes.

12. Termination

Either party may end a service agreement before bench work begins by written notice. After bench work has begun, cancellation will be handled as described in Section 4. Ticklore may decline to proceed with a service if circumstances make completion unsafe or impractical; in such cases, you will be charged only for any work completed and the watch returned.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, we ask that you first contact us directly at [email protected] to attempt an informal resolution. If that is not successful, disputes may be referred to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia (TTPM) or the courts of Penang, Malaysia, which shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

14. General Provisions

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the website or workshop services after publication constitutes acceptance. For active service agreements, any material changes will be communicated directly.
